Fox News anchor checks the facts of his network’s favorite Clinton conspiracy

Shep Smith has developed something of a reputation as an exasperated voice of reason at Fox News.

His network has pushed a conspiratorial link between Clinton Foundation donations and a deal supposedly approved by the State Department when it was led by Hillary Clinton. The conspiracy — as alleged by President Donald Trump — is that Clinton’s State Department handed over 20 percent of the United States’s uranium holdings to “Russia” in exchange for cash sent to the Clinton Foundation.

It’s a classic classic quid pro quo conspiracy that is…not true.

“The Clinton State Department had no power to veto or approve that transaction,” Smith says. “It could do neither.”

Leave it to Shep Smith to once again fact check his own network.
